Our very own Brighton Women put on a successful skills clinic last month that was attended by some 80 women from around the country. VC Lookfly then had an interview with the brains of the operation Hannah Brew.

Brighton Ultimate would like to invite you to a skills clinic for women. The clinic welcomes both beginners and experienced players alike, and will cater to all levels of ability, with perfect timing to hone your skills before University Women’s Outdoor Regionals. The day will include, a throwing clinic, a sprint mechanics session with a personal fitness trainer, a session with a qualified sports therapist, and many more ultimate related stations such as, man to man defence, zone offence and of course a slip and slide for layout practice!
The event can be attended as a team or as an individual, and is open to both clubs and university teams.
Guest coaches will include the GBu23 mixed coaches from the 2013 and the 2015 season, members of the GB Beach worlds team, and qualified level 1 coaches from both Brighton and Sussex University.

The Winter Indoor Brighton League sees teams compete indoors against each other every Thursday evening from 7-9pm at BACA hall. It’s not a draft tournament, so get your friends together, think of a team name, and enter without delay!
New signup policy: team fee gets £10 more expensive every week on Sunday. Week 1 is 22nd October!

Winter practices are starting Monday 29th September. They’re at the usual location, the floodlit pitch at Hove RFC, at the usual time of 6:45pm – 9pm. There are showers and changing rooms we can use at the venue.
Bring boots, water, a white and a black top, legs for running and hands for catching and throwing! First session back will be a ‘Get back into it’ session, so a couple of quick drills and games, no standing around listening to explanations of stuff.
Practice sessions cost £3 each, and you are also required to buy Club Membership (£10, or £5 for students) and UKU Basic Membership.
Brighton’s most popular draft league is back for 2014!
The Brighton Ultimate Draft League (BUDL) brings together all Ultimate players and potential Ultimate players in & around Brighton to compete over the summer. Players sign up to the Draft, then on Draft Night everybody meets in a pub and the captains take turns to pick the players they want on their team for the league. Teams then compete every Thursday from 6:30pm in Wild Park for the title of BUDL Champions 2014.
