  • Transaction Fee

    The transaction fee is to cover payment gateway costs.  Usually this surcharge is hidden within the products you buy but the BU committee decided to be open about the charge.  You are paying a small fee for the convenience of buying online.  If you choose you can still purchase from BU through conventional means (aka offline) for most products.  The fee is calculated as such: 1.4% of the basket value + 20p for European credit/debit cards.

  • Saved Cards

    If your card has been saved then know it is not saved on the BU website.  It’s saved with Stripe, the payment provider, who implement all the usual security precautions and requirements that the Financial Services Authority require of them.
